Speaking as the special guest, Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang said Nagaland needs total transformation on all fronts and called upon every Naga citizen to play an active role in the process. He urged people to embrace change, foster a sense of community, and work hand in hand with the government to build a prosperous and sustainable future.

“Transformation is a collective effort. It requires not only the will of the government but also the support and participation of every Naga citizen. Together we can build a society that is not only strong and resilient but also just, inclusive, and prosperous,” he stated.

Zeliang highlighted key sectors requiring attention, including peace and stability, economic growth, infrastructure development, education and skill enhancement, promotion of Naga culture, and health and social welfare.

Addressing the youth, he said education is a great asset, but all educated youths cannot rely solely on government jobs. He urged them to explore entrepreneurship, agriculture and allied sectors, skill-based professions, small businesses, and other private sector opportunities.

He emphasised embracing the dignity of labour, contributing to society, creating livelihoods, and strengthening communities. “Our strength lies in creating opportunities through innovation, entrepreneurship, agriculture, and the private sector,” he said, encouraging youths to become job creators rather than job seekers.

Zeliang also stressed inclusive growth in Peren District through better road connectivity, education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities. He congratulated New Tesen village on its 75th anniversary and called on the community to renew its commitment to peace, progress, and collective responsibility, noting that the village now stands as a symbol of resilience, harmony, and development.
