The Indian Red Cross Society Chumoukedima district branch has conducted a voluntary blood donation camp on February 20, 2026, in collaboration with the NU Health Centre, SAS Medziphema, and the Blood Centre team of District Hospital Dimapur.

The inaugural programme was held at the Administrative Block Conference Hall of the Nagaland University Medziphema Campus at 10.30 am. The programme was chaired by Vichutoulie Mere, Chairman of the IRCS Chumoukedima District Branch. A prayer was offered by Prof L Daiho from the Department of Plant Pathology, SAS Nagaland University.

Motivational addresses were delivered by Dr Rongsen Longkumer, In-Charge of the Blood Centre, District Hospital Dimapur, and Kholie Dolf, MCM, IRCS Nagaland State Branch. Prof Dipak Sinha, Pro Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus, delivered a brief address and officially declared the camp open. The formal programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Bendangchuba Pongen, MCM, IRCS Chumoukedima District Branch.

A total of five donors, including university teachers, staff and students, voluntarily donated blood during the camp. The IRCS Chumoukedima District Branch expressed appreciation to the Blood Centre team and Nagaland University Medziphema Campus for their cooperation in successfully conducting the programme.
