The Core Committee of the ANATG 2015 batch has temporarily suspended its protest for regularization after receiving written assurances from the Department of School Education regarding alternative arrangements to resolve the impasse over incomplete documents.

The protest, which began on February 4 at the Directorate of School Education in Kohima, was put on hold with effect from February 21, 2026, following official communication from the department dated February 19.

In a letter addressed to the Principal Director, the committee stated that the decision was taken during general meetings held on February 20 and 21 at the protest site, where members deliberated on the department’s assurance that a special officer or team would be deputed exclusively to look into the ANATG matter and facilitate submission of additional documents.

The committee said the suspension of the protest is conditional.

It stated that 10 members from ANATG would be deputed to assist the department in documentation and sorting of records pertaining to the 2015 batch, as earlier communicated by the government.

The group also sought prioritization of its regularization demand “both in letter and in spirit,” referring to prior communication stating that its legitimate demands are under active consideration and that action has been initiated to address them.

The committee set June 30, 2026 as the deadline for completing all alternative arrangements and procedures for regularization of ANATG 2015 members.

It warned that failure to resolve the long-pending issue within the stipulated timeframe would result in the resumption of democratic protest “in a more intensified manner.”

The letter was signed by Temsuchiba Aier, Convenor of the Core Committee, and Lhovito Sheqi, Secretary, ANATG 2015 Batch.
