MMC to install 250 LED street lights across all wards
Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) will begin installing 250 LED street lights across all 18 wards under its jurisdiction, funded entirely through revenue collected from municipal taxi parking fees. The initiative aims to enhance public safety, improve urban infrastructure, and benefit residents across the town.

According to MMC, the distribution has been carried out in a fair and need-based manner.
“Wards with fewer than 600 households have been allotted 12 LED street lights each, while wards with more than 600 households have been allotted 14 LED street lights each,” the MMC said.
The procurement, according to the MMC, was made possible through revenue generated from the collection of Parking Fees within the municipality, reflecting MMC’s commitment to utilizing locally generated resources for public benefit and infrastructural development.
