Jubilee Memorial College faculty presents paper at International RGU seminar
Among the panellists was Chubaienla Imchen, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Economics at Jubilee Memorial College. She presented a paper titled “Rethinking Education and Employability in the Northeast Region: Special Reference to Nagaland.”

In her presentation, Dr. Imchen drew attention to rising unemployment in Nagaland and the wider Northeast, noting that improvements in educational attainment have not translated proportionately into employment opportunities. She pointed out that dependence on limited government jobs has intensified competition among youths entering the labour market.

She advocated early career guidance, expanded skill development and entrepreneurship centres, and stronger startup ecosystems. Calling for a shift from a “government job waiting room” mindset to a “workshop culture,” she encouraged youth to become job creators rather than job seekers. Her participation highlighted the growing engagement of Jubilee Memorial College faculty at international academic platforms.
