The Glance Skilling Centre was inaugurated with a dedicatory prayer ceremony at Duncan Bosti, Tajen Ao Road, Dimapur, on Monday, March 2.

The inauguration was marked by a prayer led by Rev Wati Kichu and his family, formally dedicating the centre and its activities. The skilling centre has been established under the guidance of Esther Jamir, proprietor of Glance Boutique. Jamir, who is widely recognised as the first supermodel from Northeast India, has been associated with the fashion and garment industry for several decades and has been running Glance Boutique for the past 12 years.
Addressing the gathering, Jamir said the vision of the Glance Skilling Centre extends beyond imparting stitching skills. She stressed the importance of understanding client requirements, developing professional discipline and gaining a broader perspective of the fashion industry. She stated that students will be trained in both basic and advanced cutting and tailoring and will also be guided on how to start and manage their own tailoring units or boutiques.
Jamir further said that the centre aims to empower both men and women by equipping them with practical skills, confidence and entrepreneurial knowledge required to succeed in a competitive market.
The Glance Skilling Centre is scheduled to commence its courses in the third week of March 2026, with enrolment currently open.
