The Japanese Embassy in New Delhi, in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and the Department of Art & Culture, Government of Nagaland, will organise the “Japan Caravan” cultural exchange programme on March 7 and 8 at the State Academy of Music & Dance Hall in Kohima.
The Japan Caravan aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Japan and promote cultural exchange between Japan and Nagaland, according to Teisovikuolie Therie, Deputy Director-cum-Nodal Officer, ICCR, Department of Art and Culture.
Therie stated that the programme will feature Japanese cultural performances, demonstrations and interactive sessions, including Japanese language activities, calligraphy demonstrations and anime film screenings.
The event will also provide a platform for local Naga artists to showcase their talent through performances of traditional Naga dances.
Additionally, the programme will offer consultancy services for local youth interested in pursuing studies in Japan.
“We are excited to share Japanese culture with the people of Nagaland and learn about their vibrant traditions,” said a representative from the Japanese Embassy.

“This program is a great opportunity to foster cultural understanding and people-to-people connections between Japan and India,” Therie said.
The Japan Caravan is open to the public and all are invited to participate and experience the cultural exchange between Japan and Nagaland. The event will begin at 2:00 PM on both days.
