The inaugural Mithun-Rhino Pickleball Championship 2026 will begin on March 14 at The Fitness House, Dimapur, featuring competitions across several categories with a total prize pool of Rs 2 lakh, the Nagaland Pickleball Association (NPA) stated in a press release.
Organised by the NPA in affiliation with the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), the two-day tournament will include events in men’s singles, men’s doubles, mixed doubles, women’s doubles, and veterans categories for players aged 40+ and 45+.
The men’s singles champion will receive a cash prize of Rs 15,000 while the runner-up will be awarded Rs 10,000. In the men’s doubles, mixed doubles, women’s doubles, veterans 40+ and veterans 45+ categories, winners will receive Rs 20,000 each, with Rs 10,000 for runners-up.
The championship will feature players who participated in the recent Team Nagaland trials held in Dimapur and is expected to draw competitors from across the region.
Matches will commence following the inaugural programme scheduled at 10 am on March 14. The tournament will conclude on March 15 with a closing ceremony at the same venue.
The NPA stated that the event aims to promote pickleball and provide a competitive platform for players in Nagaland and the wider Northeast region.
