The Coming bye-Election to The 28th Koridang A/C was declared by the Election Commission on 15th March 2026 and it will be held on 9th April 2026. The vacancy was created by a sudden demise of Lt Mr Imkong L Imchen, an MLA from Mangmetong Village.

At the given scenario, the very interesting development that raises serious Political and Ethical question is that the son of Lt Imkong L Imchen is reportedly vying for the BJP ticket to contest. Such developmental stance is a total contrast to the constant Political accusation made to the public by the top brass BJP leaders i.e Hon’ble PM , Hon’ble HM of India against The “Dynastic Politics of India National Congress (INC) as well as all the National and regional parties in the respective States. Thus, the people of Indian citizens has accepted The BJP political reason and extended more support in almost all parts of India.

While in the same Line at 28th Koridang A/C, if the BJP ticket is awarded to the son of Lt Imkong L Imchen, then it will definitely a contradictory for the party that has consistently position itself against dynastic Politics.

In 2023 General Election of the 28th Koridang A/C, the Mangmetong Village in particular did never had interest to support BJP however due to Seat sharing of 40:20 dynamic and the 28th Koridang falls under BJP allocation, we vividly recollect what our leader Lt Imkong L Imchen said “Don’t look at the Party, Look at me as a Person” this will be my last election to be Contest” it was his Plea to the people as well as to the Church. We too recollect what our Reverent (Son of God) told him during his dedicatory prayer “keep the party outside the church, you may come in”. There were many such instances to be reminiscent however what we wanted to draw a clear line is that Mangmetong village was never a BJP party and it will never be as much as we’d known. It was solely Imkong L Imchen that was how, it was voted to power in 2023.

A Historical Evidences of Koridang: Ever since, we have come across many Leaders from the Koridang Villages whose contribution was for the state as well as Nagas. We would also like to draw an attention how Koridang A/C had participated in Nagaland State Politics since 1963. The first MLA was Lt Tajen Ao from Mangmetong Village; he was the first law graduate amongst the Nagas. Under the guidance of Lt Imkongmeren Vice President, NNC from Longkhum Village, Lt Tajen Ao Ex MLA had actively participated in the formation of Regional Party called Democratic Party of Nagaland (DPN), United Front of Nagaland (UFN) later United Democratic Front (UDF), with the Cock Symbol and the first President was Mr A. Kevichüsa, by then today, The NPF has become a strong regional Party. Such realities had immensely contributed toward the States as well as Nations building by the Yester year leaders. Basically the people’s mindset of Koridang are regional in nature, patriotic and also maintains the spirit of Republic.

Last but not the least, at these stage, we are getting lot of emerging intending candidates, mostly young and capable leaders. It is indeed a good indication having much young blood in the fray. And we are also fully convinced that the citizen of 28th Koridang A/C are fully capable of judging and electing their leaders by their values, experience, moral standard etc……we wish them all the best…
