Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Nagaland, S Supongmeren Jamir, attended the National Cadet Corps Festival and Alumni Meet Nagaland as chief guest at the Regional Centre of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts, Kohima, on March 17.

Addressing the gathering, Jamir highlighted the role of the NCC in shaping youth by instilling discipline, leadership and responsibility. He said the organisation goes beyond drills and uniforms, serving as a platform that nurtures character, teamwork and commitment. Emphasising unity and discipline, he noted that these values are essential in building responsible citizens in a diverse country.
He encouraged cadets to carry forward the lessons learned through NCC training into all aspects of life, stating that courage, respect and dedication would help them succeed. He added that leadership is rooted in responsibility, humility and service.
Jamir said NCC alumni stand as examples of how training shapes individuals into professionals and leaders, inspiring younger cadets. The event featured cultural performances, games and interactive sessions.
