The meeting was led by Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, S. Tainiu. During the meeting, the department presented a detailed overview of the state’s socio-demographic profile, health infrastructure, and key achievements in the health sector.

Officials informed that Nagaland has made notable progress in improving major health indicators. The Infant Mortality Rate has declined significantly, while the Maternal Mortality Ratio and Total Fertility Rate have also improved over the years, reflecting better maternal and child healthcare services in the state.

The department also apprised the Governor of the performance under the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP), including improvements in case detection and treatment outcomes. However, challenges such as timely disbursement under the Ni-Kshay Poshan Yojana and patient adoption were highlighted as areas requiring attention.

The Governor appreciated the department’s efforts in strengthening healthcare delivery and improving key indicators. He emphasized the need for effective implementation of health programmes, particularly in remote and rural areas, and called for continued efforts to ensure accessible and quality healthcare for all.
