World TB Day was observed across Kohima, Mokokchung and Wokha on March 24, with district authorities organising programmes, honouring TB-free villages, and launching the 100 Days TB Campaign to strengthen efforts toward tuberculosis elimination.

In Kohima, the District Tuberculosis Elimination Programme and NHM Nagaland organised the event at the DC Conference Hall under the theme “Yes! We Can End TB; Led by Bharat, Powered by Janbhagidari.” A key highlight was the felicitation of 22 TB-free villages under the TB Mukt Panchayat Initiative, including Seiyha Phesa Village, which received the gold award. Deputy Commissioner B. Henok Buchem encouraged continued commitment and stressed awareness, early detection, and completion of treatment.
In Mokokchung, the programme at the CMO Conference Hall marked both the observation and the launch of the 100 Days TB Campaign. Chubamongla, EAC, Chuchuyimlang, said, “we celebrate TB day as a reminder to everyone to renew our commitment and spread awareness on TB.” Dr R Toshimenla Jamir highlighted the need for collective action, while awards were presented to Mekuli, Kelingmen, and Moalenden villages.
In Wokha, the programme organised by the National TB Elimination Programme saw 37 achievers felicitated, including gold awardees Mekirang and Okhaeyan villages. Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar urged early detection and discipline in treatment, while the 100 Days TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan campaign was also launched to enhance community participation and reduce TB cases.
