DC, SP lead coordination meeting at Mangmetong ahead of Koridang bypoll
Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, along with Sr SP Mokokchung Vesupra Kezo, NPS, and other government officials visited Mangmetong village on April 4 for a coordination meeting with village council members in connection with the forthcoming bye-election to the 28 (ST) Koridang Assembly Constituency. The meeting was held at the Panchayat Bhavan, Mangmetong village.

The Deputy Commissioner, while interacting with the members, reiterated that the village council is an authorized institution under the government and that council members should function without any restriction while carrying out their responsibilities in connection with the by-election. He urged the council members to be judicious in performing their duties. He also stated that as the Model Code of Conduct laid down by the Election Commission of India has been enforced, all government election machinery must take responsibility to ensure an environment for the free and fair conduct of the election process.

Nockpai Konyak, SDO (C) Mokokchung and Returning Officer for the by-election to the 28 (ST) Koridang Assembly Constituency, while addressing the meeting, added that as the Model Code of Conduct is in effect in the constituency, all concerned must adhere to the procedures.
