A one-day district-level launch of SUMAN-notified facilities and a review of maternal health activities was held on April 8 at the Conference Hall of the CMO’s Office, Mokokchung. Dr. Limanaro, DPO (UIP & RCH), Mokokchung, attended as the resource person.

Dr. Limanaro stated that Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan (SUMAN) is an initiative aimed at ensuring zero preventable maternal and newborn deaths. She highlighted the three SUMAN service guarantee packages, namely the Basic Package, MEmONC Package, and CEmONC Package. She also elaborated on the entitlements under the initiative, along with aspects of quality assurance and community engagement.
The DPO urged trainees to conduct awareness talks on health-related activities during Village Health and Nutrition Days. She informed that there are four SUMAN-certified and 33 SUMAN-notified health units in Mokokchung district.
Sessions were also conducted on high-risk pregnancy, ePMSMA, gestational diabetes mellitus, and MPCDSR. Participants were trained on filling up reporting formats.
The programme was attended by SMOs, MOs, CHOs, staff nurses, GNMs, LHVs, and ANMs.
