An orientation programme for Tenyidie teachers on “A Comprehensive Course on Tenyidie–IX” was organised by Ura Academy, Kohima, in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education (DoSE), Nagaland, at Ura Academy Hall on Thursday. Teachers from government and private schools attended the programme.

Addressing the inaugural session, Ura Academy president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu said the academy has grown over the years and contributed significantly to the development of the Tenyidie language, which is now taught up to the university level, opening avenues for higher education and research.
He emphasised the important role of teachers in promoting and preserving the language, adding that the progress of the academy would not have been possible without their efforts. He said Tenyidie remains central to the identity of the Tenyimi community and must be passed on to future generations.
Describing teaching as a noble profession, Dr. Liezietsu urged teachers to take pride in teaching Tenyidie, which he termed “priceless.” He added that teachers play a key role in preserving culture, traditions and heritage.
Dr. Keneichanuo Mepfhüo, Language Assistant at DoSE, delivered the keynote address.
The session was chaired by Daso Paphino, Vice President of Ura Academy, while Pheluopfhelie Kesiezie offered the invocation prayer.
Resource persons included Dr. Metseilhouthie Mor, Sazonuo Zhünyü, Kikruneinuo Liezietsu and Araile Imchen. Dr. Neiphrezonuo Mepfhüo and Diethosilie Chakrünuo served as moderators.
