The Second Inter-School Cricket Tournament concluded at Public Ground, Kiphire, marking a day of enthusiasm, discipline and young sporting spirit.

GHSS Kiphire wins 2nd Inter-School Cricket Tournament

The programme began with an exhibition match between officials of the Kiphire District Cricket Association and its Under-19 team, with the officials securing a win.

In the final, Government Higher Secondary School, Kiphire posted 163 runs before being all out. Cambridge High School, despite a determined effort, managed 100 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Government Higher Secondary School emerged as champions, while Cambridge High School finished as runners-up.

The tournament was organised by the Kiphire District Cricket Association under the aegis of the Nagaland Cricket Association, with the aim of identifying and nurturing young cricketing talent in the district.

Certificates were presented to the winners by Longtili C. Sangtam, official umpire of the association.

Rothrongse Sangtam, Joint Secretary of the association, thanked all stakeholders for their support and encouraged schools and students to participate actively in such events. He said the association would continue organising similar tournaments to help players grow and represent the district at higher levels.

He also congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of all participants, stating that the tournament served as a valuable platform for learning and development.
