The Naga People’s Front Central Women Wing held a consultative meeting at the party’s Central Headquarters in Kohima on May 26, where women leaders discussed organisational matters and preparations for a proposed tour programme scheduled for July 2026.

The meeting also deliberated on strengthening the functioning of the Central Women Wing and resolved to work collectively for the growth and progress of the party.
During the meeting, the members adopted a six-point resolution.
The house expressed appreciation to Chief Minister and NPF president Neiphiu Rio for creating greater opportunities for women in leadership through the implementation of 33 percent reservation for women in Urban Local Body elections, which resulted in the election of women councillors across the state.
The women wing also appreciated the intervention of NPF leadership, including working president Abu Metha, in resolving the political crisis within the Dimapur Municipal Council and ensuring reconciliation among NPF councillors.
The meeting further congratulated party leaders, including secretary general Achumbemo Kikon, on the Election Commission of India’s recognition of the merger of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party with the NPF.
The women wing also announced plans to launch a district-wide campaign titled “Her Vote, Her Voice” from September to November 2026 to encourage enrolment of young women voters.
It further resolved to organise training programmes, workshops and seminars to promote women in leadership roles and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening party principles, peace and unity.
