The official theme song of the 25th Dr. T. Ao Trophy was ceremonially released on May 27, marking a milestone in the preparations for Nagaland’s premier football tournament.

The programme commenced with an introduction by Convenor and Advisor, MLA Temjenmenba Pongen, who emphasized the importance of unity, collaboration and dedication in organizing the silver jubilee edition of the tournament.
An address on the history and legacy of the Dr. T. Ao Tournament was delivered by Neibu Sekhose, President of the Nagaland Football Association (NFA). He highlighted the tournament’s role in nurturing football talent across the state and stated that Dr. T. Ao’s contribution to sports continues to inspire generations. He also said the tournament deserves wider recognition at the national level and called upon stakeholders to uphold and celebrate its legacy.
The organizing committee also shared plans to invite officials associated with Mohun Bagan as part of efforts to enhance the profile of the tournament. It was noted that the NFA, along with other sports bodies, has made progress at the national level, reflecting Nagaland’s growing presence in Indian football.
Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio assured administrative approval for the timely completion of infrastructure development, including galleries and other essential facilities, to ensure readiness ahead of the tournament.
On behalf of the Organising Committee, an appeal was made to stakeholders, departments and the public to extend their support in hosting the tournament. Emphasis was also placed on organizing opening and closing ceremonies befitting the significance of the 25th edition.
The official theme song, written and composed by Sunep Lemtur, was performed by Sunep Lemtur, Imna Yaden, Lenen Jamir, Mensemnaro, Sangti Ozukum, Yimkum and Arenchenla.
