Former President of the Seyochung Village Students’ Union, Longtili C. Sangtam, donated essential medicines to the Health & Wellness Centre (HWC), Seyochung, on June 13.

During his visit, Sangtam commended the cleanliness of the centre and the dedication of its staff despite limited resources. He also expressed concern over the shortage of personnel.
“I am encouraged to see such exceptional work being carried out at the centre. However, the shortage of staff is a matter of concern. I hope and believe that the higher authorities will look into this issue at the earliest,” he said.
According to health staff, the centre recorded 129 outpatient department (OPD) visits in April and 90 in May 2026. Antenatal care (ANC) services and monthly Village Health and Nutrition Day (VHND) programmes continue to be conducted across the catchment area.
The Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) stationed at the centre said managing operations has become challenging since the Community Health Officer (CHO) went on six months’ maternity leave.
“Running the centre alone is very difficult, especially as Seyochung is a large village with many visitors. Additional support staff during this period would be of great help,” she said.
The ANM thanked Sangtam for the donation, describing the medicines as timely and much needed.
