The Dimapur Sümi Council (DSC) and the Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Dimapur (ENPUD) on Saturday reaffirmed their commitment to tribal integration and stronger Naga unity, describing recent developments between Sümi and eastern Naga organisations as important milestones in strengthening inter-community ties in Dimapur.

The commitment was reiterated during a joint coordination meeting held at the DSC office, where leaders of both organisations discussed cooperation, shared concerns and the need for collective leadership among Naga communities.
The meeting highlighted the affiliation of the Eastern Sümi Hoho with the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) in 2023 and the induction of the Eastern Nagaland Sümi Union Dimapur (ENSUD) into ENPUD in 2025. Participants described the developments as significant steps toward fostering closer relations among communities residing in Dimapur.
Addressing the gathering, ENPUD president N.T. Thamlong Phom and other leaders spoke on issues of common Naga interest and stressed the importance of preserving long-standing ties between the Sümi community and the tribes of eastern Nagaland.
Representatives from the Dimapur District GB Federation, Dimapur Sümi Totimi Loka, Naga Council Dimapur and other community organisations also attended the meeting and called for continued coexistence, mutual respect and cooperation among Naga communities.
DSC president Shikuto Yeptho, in his concluding remarks, thanked the ENPUD delegation for the visit and expressed optimism about future collaboration between the two organisations.
The meeting also discussed the upcoming Ahuna Festival, which leaders said would serve as a platform for cultural exchange, peace-building and deeper tribal integration.
