The Tirap, Changlang & Longding People’s Forum (TCLPF) has strongly condemned the killing of six Nagas in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district and called for an immediate and impartial investigation into the incident.

In a press statement, TCLPF said it was expressing its “strongest condemnation of the brutal, heinous, and inhuman killing of six innocent Naga brothers on 13 June, 2026, in Kangpokpi District, Manipur.”

Describing the incident as a “barbaric and senseless act of violence,” the forum said it constituted “a grave assault on the sanctity of human life and a blatant violation of fundamental human rights.”

“No cause, ideology, or circumstance can ever justify the taking of innocent lives in such a cruel and merciless manner,” it stated.

The forum also referred to reports alleging that Naga women who were held hostage were subjected to inhuman treatment following the killings.

“Disturbing reports have emerged alleging that Naga women who were held hostage were fed the flesh of their own brothers, treating [them] in an inhuman and degrading manner following the killings,” TCLPF stated.

It added that if such reports are verified, “such acts would represent a shocking violation of human dignity and further deepen the anguish and trauma suffered by the affected families and communities.”

According to the forum, the killings have not only caused immense suffering to the families concerned but also threaten peace and communal harmony in the region.

“These atrocities not only inflict irreparable pain upon the bereaved families but also threaten peace, harmony, and communal coexistence in the region,” it said.

The TCLPF urged both the State and Central Governments to direct the concerned law enforcement agencies to undertake “an immediate, impartial, transparent, and thorough investigation into this heinous crime.”

“It is imperative that those responsible for these barbaric acts are swiftly identified, apprehended, and brought to justice in accordance with the due process of law,” it stated.

The forum further called on the authorities to strengthen law-and-order mechanisms and ensure adequate measures for the safety and security of all citizens, irrespective of community or background.

“Any delay or inaction in addressing such grave incidents only undermines public confidence in the rule of law and the administration of justice,” the statement said.

Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families, TCLPF conveyed its condolences and prayed that the Almighty would grant “eternal peace to the departed souls and strength, comfort, and courage to the bereaved families.”

The forum said it hoped that “prompt, transparent, and decisive action” would be taken to uphold justice, restore public confidence, and prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
