The NSCN-IM on Thursday declared that it has “never surrendered, nor will it ever compromise or surrender, the sacred Naga National Cause,” as its Joint Council reaffirmed support for the collective leadership and recommitted itself to the 2015 Indo-Naga Framework Agreement.

In a press statement issued after a Joint Council meeting held at the Council Headquarters, Hebron, the NSCN/GPRN said the meeting was convened to deliberate on “critical issues confronting the Naga national movement.”

Among the resolutions adopted, the Joint Council declared its “uncompromising commitment to the Naga Cause.”

“The NSCN/GPRN, under the resolute Collective Leadership of Yaruiwo Ino Q. Tuccu, Kedalo Ino Tongmeth Wangnao, Ato Kilonser Ino Th. Muivah, and Deputy Ato Kilonser Lt. Gen. (Retd) Vs. Atem, VC, explicitly declares that it has never surrendered, nor will it ever compromise or surrender, the sacred Naga National Cause,” the statement said.

The Joint Council also formally endorsed the present leadership of the organisation.

According to the statement, the council “explicitly endorses and supports the Collective Leadership in guiding the NSCN/GPRN and leading the Naga people in their historical movement for self-determination.”

The council further reaffirmed its commitment to the Indo-Naga Framework Agreement signed on August 3, 2015.

It stated that the NSCN/GPRN would “stand its ground in protecting, defending, and honoring the historic Indo-Naga Framework Agreement signed on 3 August 2015 as the foundational basis for an honorable political settlement.”

The organisation also called upon “all Naga citizens, regional authorities, and sympathizers of the cause” to stand united behind the collective leadership.

The resolutions were adopted unanimously during the Joint Council meeting, according to the statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Publicity, NSCN/GPRN.
