The Department of Health & Family Welfare has directed all medical officers and other medical personnel under its establishment not to leave their place of posting without obtaining prior leave sanction from the competent authority.

According to a departmental notification issued in pursuance of a decision taken during a departmental meeting held on May 14, all medical officers and healthcare personnel must strictly adhere to the prescribed procedure for availing leave. The order states that no officer shall leave the station without prior approval.

The department has further directed that Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) and Medical Superintendents proceeding on leave must, in addition to obtaining the required leave sanction, inform the Deputy Commissioner of their respective districts before leaving their station.

It also instructed that proper leave records be maintained by the respective leave sanctioning authorities to ensure effective monitoring and accountability.

The notification warned that any violation of the instructions would be viewed seriously and dealt with in accordance with applicable government regulations.

The order has been issued for strict compliance by all concerned.
