Advisor Tongpang visits landslide hit areas under Chuchuyimlang NH-2 diversion proposed
MLA & Advisor Tongpang Ozukum seen with officials and others during the visit on Saturday, July 25.

During his visit to the massive landslide at NH-2 (181.100 km) between Chuchuyimlang and Unger, Ozukum interacted with district administration and PWD (NH) officials to assess the possibility of restoring the highway for commuters.

Officials informed that the affected stretch falls within a subsidence area and that the damaged road is beyond restoration, making a diversion necessary.

Ozukum also interacted with the Village Councils of Chuchuyimlang and Unger and appealed to them to provide the required land for the diversion. He urged the councils to extend full support and cooperation for early restoration, noting that the closure of NH-2 has affected the transportation of essential commodities and other goods to Mokokchung, Zunheboto and Tuensang districts.

The Advisor also visited the landslide-affected road towards Longleng and Mon via Salulamang from the Nagaland Gandhi Ashram junction at Chuchuyimlang Town and assured the Salulamang Village Council of early restoration.

He was accompanied by SDO (C) Changtongya Sangpangchang Longkumer, EAC Chuchuyimlang, PWD (NH) officials, party workers and representatives of local bodies.
