Pfutsero Government College, through its Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), in collaboration with Phek Police, organised a one-day seminar on “Career Guidance and Women Safety” at the college auditorium on Monday.
The seminar brought together police officials, legal experts, entrepreneurs, faculty members and students to discuss career opportunities, cyber safety, entrepreneurship and gender justice.
The programme was chaired by Sutoli Sema, Assistant Professor and ICC Presiding Officer, while Teithuvina Nukhu, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, led the invocation.
Addressing the gathering on cybercrime prevention, Ramneek Gautam, IPS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Pfutsero, highlighted the growing threat of digital crimes among youth. He cautioned students against sharing intimate content online and warned about fraudulent loan applications that misuse personal information for blackmail and extortion. He advised students to download applications only from official platforms and report cyber incidents promptly.
Sekhotso Rokha, Retainer Lawyer, PDLSA Phek, spoke on legal careers, while Phek Superintendent of Police Dr Pritpal Kaur Batra shared strategies for competitive examinations including NSSB, SSC-CGL, Bank PO, NPSC and UPSC. She stressed that “regular revision” is essential for success.
Nezelu Nyekha, Executive Director, CWWS, Pfutsero, encouraged students to explore entrepreneurship by developing solutions to community challenges.
Sessions on women safety, legal rights, consent and gender justice were also conducted, with Dr Batra stressing equality and reminding students that “No means No.” The programme aimed to equip students with practical knowledge and promote responsible citizenship.
