MGM College celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day on August 15 under the theme “Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat @ 2047”, highlighting the role of youth in nation-building.

The National Flag was hoisted by Fr Shaiju Philip, Administrator, followed by the National Anthem and National Pledge. A highlight was the screening of “Glimpses of India Before Independence”, depicting the hardships under colonial rule and sacrifices made during the freedom movement.
Delivering the Independence Day message, Fr. Shaiju Philip said freedom carried a “profound responsibility” and urged students to become active participants in nation-building. He stressed that Viksit Bharat @ 2047 would require educated, skilled, disciplined and socially conscious citizens.
The programme concluded with a valedictory prayer led by Dr RK Behera, Principal.
