The Nagaland Pickleball Association (NPA) has outlined a roadmap to strengthen the sport across the state, with plans for official state tournaments, a formal ranking system, player development, grassroots programmes and greater competitive exposure.

The roadmap was discussed at the NPA’s General Annual Meeting held on August 16, which reviewed the association’s activities and tournaments over the past year and identified the need for more structured competitions, improved player tracking and wider participation.
The association plans to organise two official state events in Kohima and Dimapur, tentatively in September and October, and send selected players to the IPA Nationals. State team selections are scheduled for October, with details to be announced later.
A key decision was the introduction of a formal state-level ranking and digital tournament system. FLEG has been designated as the association’s official digital partner for rankings, registration, scoring and event management.
The NPA also plans to strengthen court standards, develop certified referees and engage court owners through consultations. Grassroots development will include approaching schools and educational institutions for partnerships, talent identification and youth participation.
Coaching certification programmes and women’s coaching clinics are also proposed, subject to the availability of qualified coaches. The association resolved to hold monthly meetings to monitor progress and ensure accountability.
