The first Nagaland State Judo Championship 2026 will be held at Eden Academy, Mokokchung, from September 10 to 12, with judokas from eight districts set to participate.
Organised by the Nagaland Judo Association (NJA) under the theme, “United by Judo, Driven by Excellence,” the three-day championship aims to promote and develop judo in Nagaland while providing young and upcoming judokas a platform to showcase their talent and compete at the state level.
Participants from Zunheboto, Phek, Mon, Meluri, Dimapur, Peren, Kohima and Mokokchung will take part in the championship.
The competition will feature boys and girls as well as men and women in sub-junior, junior, cadet and senior age groups across various weight categories.

The inaugural programme will be held at 12 noon on September 10. Mokokchung Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma will attend the occasion as the special guest.
The NJA said the championship is intended to strengthen the sport at the state level and provide competitive exposure to emerging judokas from across Nagaland.
