Coach Avar Danla takes charge as host team begins preparation for Silver Jubilee edition on October 12
Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) has finalised its 20-member squad for the Silver Jubilee edition of the Dr T Ao Trophy following three days of trials, with intensive preparations set to begin from tomorrow.

The tournament is scheduled to begin on October 12 at Renpo Lu, Ungma.
Avar Danla, an AFC B Licence holder, has been appointed head coach of the Mokokchung team, becoming the first coach from beyond the district to take charge of the team for the tournament.
The selected players will now undergo an intensive coaching program as the host side steps up preparations for the tournament.
With Mokokchung hosting the Silver Jubilee edition, Team Manager Yimya Jamir told MT that the occasion carries added significance for the district.
Jamir said Mokokchung had initially been in a situation where it was not expected to host the tournament, but was given the honour because of the Silver Jubilee edition.
“Since this is the Silver Jubilee, we want it to be successful, and we want to do our best for the host team,” Jamir said.
He said the team’s objective is to make the most of the opportunity and give its best on home ground.
The technical team comprises Avar Danla as Head Coach, Tongpang as Assistant Coach, Yimya Jamir as Team Manager and Tongpang (PT) as Team Physiotherapist.
The intensive coaching program for the selected players will begin on September 11.

The goalkeeping duties will be shared by Nungsangyanger and Medemmar. The defensive line comprises Imnasunep, Tongpangnungshi, Alemmongba, Moajang, Lipoksanen, Maongsanen and Meyinungsang.
Sangtilong, Yongsen, Imnanungkum, Sentilong, Ayimnukshi and Tajungsang make up the midfield, while Supongyanger, Lanutemsu, Yashimeren, Tarepnungsang and Imnatoshi form the forward line.
