The store is owned and operated by Temjenmoa Jamir, proprietor and CEO of Nagaland Minerals and Mines.

According to Asen, supervisor of the Mokokchung franchise, the initiative began around three months ago. She said the decision to open the outlet was also influenced by the limited availability of dedicated stores for children in Mokokchung.

She said the outlet currently caters to expectant mothers and children up to five years of age. However, she added that the product range could be extended to children up to 14 years depending on customer demand.

The outlet currently employs four people, all from Mokokchung town, she said.

FirstCry’s product categories include baby and kids’ clothing, toys, footwear, baby-care products, feeding and nursing products, school supplies and other children-related items.
