The 9th Inter-School Football Tournament organised by the Medziphema Town Students’ Union concluded in Medziphema on September 14, with Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Medziphema and St Francis De Sales Higher Secondary School (SFS) emerging champions in the High School and Higher Secondary divisions respectively.
In the Higher Secondary Division final, SFS defeated GHSS 2-0. Kezhavizo opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a precise finish before captain Amang doubled the lead with a close-range strike in the second half.
The High School Division final also ended 2-0, with GHSS defeating SFS. Lhousakhoto gave GHSS the lead in the 17th minute and later scored his second goal in the second half to seal the title.
Individual awards in the Higher Secondary Division went to Mhasilhouto (GHSS), Best Goalkeeper; Shushant (SFS), Best Defender; Vincent (SFS), Best Player; and Kikruneilie Kera (SFS), Highest Scorer.
In the High School Division, Lammik ai (SFS) was named Best Goalkeeper, Mhasivoto (GHSS) Best Defender, Lhousakhoto (GHSS) Best Player and Viselie Vasa (SFS) Highest Scorer.
Lunchong of Modern Christian School received the Emerging Player award, while Modern Christian School was named Best Disciplined Team.
