In his address, Bhartiya encouraged students to participate actively in school and college activities, recalling how his own involvement in various events during his student days helped him overcome fears and shaped his personality and character. He urged students to seize opportunities to showcase their talents, make use of available resources and guidance to develop their skills, and regard every experience as an opportunity to learn. He emphasised that learning is a continuous process.

Bhartiya formally inaugurated La Fete 2026 following the address.

The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Shurhonuo Tsurho, Assistant Professor in the Department of English and convenor of the Literary, Cultural and Performing Arts committee. She welcomed the special guest, faculty members and students, and highlighted the significance of the fest’s theme. Group flag designs were also displayed, followed by the oath-taking ceremony.

The inaugural session featured war cry and folk song competitions. The subsequent session included poetry, extempore speech, art and fashion, solo performance, storytelling and choir competitions, alongside outdoor traditional games. The choir competition featured students’ renditions of songs by ABBA.
