Khamo calls for coordination, timely DPRs in CAWD
Advisor for Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) Kudecho Khamo addressing departmental officials during a coordination meeting at the CAWD conference hall in Kohima on October 14.

Khamo was speaking at a coordination meeting with CAWD officials at the department’s conference hall in Kohima, where he welcomed the posting of Er. Ketuoselie Kenguruse as the new Assistant Chief Engineer (ACE).

Emphasising the close working relationship between engineers and administrative officers, Khamo urged officials to discharge their duties sincerely, with dedication and mutual cooperation, in the service of the people.

He acknowledged the difficult working and living conditions faced by administrative officers in some parts of the state, particularly due to inadequate infrastructure and residential facilities. He said the state government, under Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, was working to improve these facilities in phases.

Khamo also stressed the need for timely preparation of DPRs to facilitate project execution and completion. He expressed concern over instances of landowners obstructing government projects despite receiving compensation and employment benefits, saying such practices hindered development.

He urged CAWD officials to work collectively and ensure that infrastructure development kept pace with the requirements of the state’s administrative machinery.

Earlier, Vekhoyi Chakhesang, Deputy Commissioner from the Office of the Commissioner, Nagaland, welcomed the new ACE and highlighted the infrastructure needs of administrative officers posted in the districts.

Kenguruse led the meeting, during which engineers shared updates on departmental works and reviewed the progress of ongoing projects.
