The Ongpangkong Mungdang (OM) and the Lotha Middle Range Public Organization (LMRPO), along with members of the Mangmetong Village Council, have resolved to jointly file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) before the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, seeking monitoring of the Mangmetong–Doyang road project.

The decision was taken during a joint meeting held at Zaren Resort, Chubi Bridge, on October 17, 2026, following deliberations on the road project.
According to the resolution adopted at the meeting, the proposed PIL will seek to ensure proper monitoring of the quality of workmanship, completion of the project within a stipulated timeframe and monthly reviews of the progress of the work.
The meeting further resolved that the PIL would be filed jointly by the OM and the LMRPO.
The resolution was signed by Alemtoshi Imsong, President of OM, and John Murry, President of LMRPO.
The proposed legal action signals the organisations’ intention to seek judicial oversight of the road project, with emphasis on construction quality, timely completion and regular progress monitoring.
