The Tuensang District Football Association (TDFA) has threatened to withdraw its team from the ongoing 25th Dr. T Ao Trophy Inter-District Football Championship 2026 if the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) fails to resolve a pending registration issue involving two of its players before their next match.
In a letter dated October 20 addressed to the NFA president, the TDFA said it had completed the registration process within the stipulated timeline, including the required documentation, registration and DigiLocker verification.
However, two players, S Ayenmongba and M Namangsangba, could not be added to the Competition Management System (CMS) despite having completed the necessary formalities, the association stated.
The TDFA said it had raised the issue with the Technical Committee well in advance and described penalising the association for a problem it said was beyond its control as unjustifiable and unacceptable.
The association has appealed to the NFA to rectify the pending issue before Tuensang’s upcoming match, warning that failure to do so would leave it with no option but to withdraw from the tournament.
Copies of the letter were also sent to the convenors of the tournament’s Organising Committee and Technical Committee, as well as all district football associations.
