Rajya Sabha MP from Nagaland S. Phangnon Konyak attended the first day of the 12th BRICS Parliamentary Forum 2026 in New Delhi on October 26. The forum was inaugurated by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
The forum brought together parliamentary delegations from 21 countries, including 11 BRICS member countries and 10 partner countries, under the theme “Fostering Parliaments for People-Centric Development.”
Konyak also participated in the second plenary session on innovation, themed “Harnessing Parliaments for Promoting Human-Centric Innovation in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies.” The session focused on the role of parliaments in promoting human-centric innovation and ensuring the responsible application of emerging technologies through parliamentary cooperation.
