Khamo expressed concern over the slow progress of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex in Noklak and urged the contractor to complete the project within the stipulated timeline.

He said he had personally observed the dilapidated condition of government offices, officers’ and staff quarters, and General Administration (GA) rest houses across the state. Although several projects were underway, many infrastructure requirements remained unmet, he said, assuring that he would take up the matter with the government.

Khamo said Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio was giving special attention to administrative infrastructure despite resource constraints. He added that better facilities would improve working conditions for administrative officers and help them serve people in remote areas.

At Tuensang, the team inspected the Village Guard Commandant’s office and the G+2-storey Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, funded under the State Earmarked Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI). The complex will include parking, facilities for persons with disabilities and a conference hall with seating for 250 to 300 people. Khamo urged the contractor to complete it by early next year.

In Noklak, the team inspected the District Court building, DC Office Complex and GA Rest House. At Shamator, Deputy Commissioner Arikumba highlighted the need for adequate administrative facilities, while the team also visited the Village Guard Training Centre.

CAWD Assistant Chief Engineer Ketousielie Kenguruse stressed construction quality and urged contractors to speed up work, citing shortages of offices, rest houses and residential quarters for officers in the districts.

Khamo also acknowledged the services of former Assistant Chief Engineer Sungtiba Amer, who recently retired, and welcomed Kenguruse to his new posting.
