The Salangtem Youth Union (SYU) has postponed its Open Futsal Tournament, originally scheduled for November 3 to 5, 2026, to March 2027 due to technical difficulties.
The decision was taken during a consultative meeting on Monday, with the union stating that the postponement was necessary to ensure the smooth conduct and overall standard of the tournament.
The SYU expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to participating teams, players, supporters and sponsors, acknowledging the efforts teams had already made in preparation for the event.
The union said the additional time would allow it to address the technical issues and ensure a better-organised tournament.
The exact dates for the rescheduled tournament will be announced in March 2027, the union stated, while thanking teams, sponsors and well-wishers for their patience and continued support.
