Mokokchung, June 10 (MTNews): Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang in collaboration with Tir Yimyim and Bookipedia, Mokokchung organized a Clean Election Movement program under the theme ‘Clean Election’ at Yimyu Baptist Church, Mokokchung on Friday.

The event witnessed the amalgamation of two programs into one, where emphasis was given to promoting Clean Election and preserving the Ao language.

Speaking on Clean Election, Rev. Dr. Noklen Longkumer, Convenor of the ABAM Clean Election Movement, remarked that for a state to flourish, it is the power of its people, not the government, and that citizens’ rights have been lost owing to corruption.

He also stated that individuals who do not want to change and see elections as a means of earning a living are misguided. He went on to say that a clean election would be effective only if old and bad habits were abandoned.

Earlier in the program, K. Temjen Jamir, Editor of Tir Yimyim, spoke briefly on the importance of the Ao language and how a successful clean election will have a positive impact on society.
