Mokokchung, June 22 (MTNews): Ato Kilonser, GPRN/NSCN & Convener, Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC, NNPGs), N Kitovi Zhimomi stated in a ‘Statement of Appeal’ issued today that negotiations have officially concluded and therefore the political leadership of India must take the decision.
Kitovi also said that the WC, NNPGs, has been the emissary and political agent of the Naga tribes, fully integrated and blended with apex tribal bodies, customary institutions and other ground rooted CSOs to negotiate with Gol and secure honourable and acceptable political solution for the Nagas. “WC, NNPGs have sincerely and transparently represented the Nagas, irrespective of state boundaries, without compromising on core principles and values of Naga history, identity and political rights,” he added.
While stating that the issue belongs to all Nagas, young or old, needing equal participation and responsibility, Kitovi also said that every single Naga is a stakeholder and has every right to seek answers to the “concluded political matters.”
He also said that the culture of dictating Nagas through threats and intimidations is a thing of the past. “The Naga Civil Societies demanding honorable and acceptable political solution based on the understanding reached between the Government of India (Gol) and the Naga negotiating groups on 31 Oct. 2019, must be respected and honored,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, Kitovi also added that “generalizing and alleging that Naga political groups are deliberately delaying political solution for personal reasons and ambition” is vague and unfounded. “The misty cloud over Nagaland and Naga homeland has evaporated and the sky is clear. The dust has settled and it is visible to the Naga people as to who are playing chameleon’s role and delaying the Indo-Naga solution. The people must speak out boldly and call a spade a spade,” he said.
Kitovi also said that the Nagaland Gaon Burah Federation (NGBF) extending its “elderly platform to the 27(twenty-seven) Civil Societies of Nagaland on 21″June 2022, at Hotel Saramati is a powerful statement in itself.”
He said that Nagaland CSOs forming Nagaland Public Action Committee (NPAC) will “re-energize our people into actively participating in peaceful democratic expressions to ensure Honorable Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, fulfils his declared commitment to the Naga people.”
