Mokokchung, July 20 (MTNews): The Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has reiterated its appeal to the government of India to immediately conclude the peace process and bring a solution to the Naga issue before the 2023 State Assembly Elections.

NTC in a press release issued on Wednesday said that the 4-Point resolution of the Parliamentary Committee on the Naga Political Issue (PCoNPI) as one of the facilitators is appreciated as it came at a time when the “Naga public had become weary and impatient in view of the political solution being overdue.”
NTC said that it welcomes each point of the resolution and “heartily congratulates the 60 MLAs for having rightly encouraged and admonished the political negotiators.”

It said that the objective of the Naga political groups (NPGs) entering into ceasefire with the government of India is to have the logical end of solution, the council said all “those official engagements between the entities are not indeed meant for futile exercise”.

It further said that since the right message of the people of Nagaland has been conveyed to the government of India, the latter should “immediately conclude the processes into the solution on the basis of the mutual closure of the talks on 31st October, 2019 before 2023 State Assembly Elections.”
