In a humble start, Mokokchung Times was launched exactly 100 days ago on January 21. We are immensely grateful to all who have been supporting us ever since we embarked on this journey on a modest note, constrained by resources but not our vision. is an independent newspaper founded on the principle of ethical and honest journalism. We set our own agenda, without fear or favour, and we provide trustworthy journalism that is free from commercial and political influence. Mokokchung Times is not a competition to other newspapers but an alternative newspaper and media outlet based in Mokokchung, Nagaland. It emerged from the desire to pursue bold and honest journalism while bringing out interesting reads that reflect the culture and ways of life of the people of Mokokchung and Nagaland. Recognizing the role of press and media in a democracy, Mokokchung Times is firmly committed to public interest and democratic values.

Over the last hundred days, we have faced a lot of challenges and tribulations, including some that were never anticipated. Being printed and published in Mokokchung, we are also faced with a number of logistic constraints that are common to all remote small towns like ours. Despite overwhelming challenges, we have been able to keep the newspaper afloat for which we convey our profound gratitude to all our well-wishers and readers. We are genuinely motivated to pursue the highest form of professional journalism in the days ahead. We would also like to inform our readers that, once all formalities with the Registrar of Newspapers in India, New Delhi, followed up by those with the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Kohima are completed, we have plans to scale up in a number of ways to better serve the people in a more holistic manner.

At the moment, Mokokchung Times has good social media presence that is maintaining a steady growth rate, keeping us connected with the community across various social media platforms. With the support of our readers, we intend to scale up in this aspect too in the days ahead. The primary purpose and principle of Mokokchung Times is not to compete with other media houses but to play a complementary role. We are also open to collaborations with other media houses, institutions and individuals. At the same time, we also encourage citizen journalism.
Mokokchung Times is a young and independent media house. We are a team of young individuals with a desire and passion to participate in the transformation of our society. We have just completed the first hundred days in this arduous journey, which we are enjoying nonetheless, and we look forward to the next thousand days ahead. We solicit the continued support and blessings of our readers who inspire us to keep going.
