Dear subscribers and readers, the Mokokchung Times team would at the outset like to thank you all for supporting us till today. We have started this journey on January 21, 2022 on a modest note, constrained by resources but not by our vision. This newspaper emerged with the idea and belief that local journalism can be an essential democratic force. We strive to fully and meaningfully cover local news on a daily basis while bringing out interesting reads. We believe in the power of an empowered and informed citizenry, which we strive to build through our journalism. If you are reading this, you are probably on our side now. As such, please allow us to share our position and situation here.

It was known from the start that this was going to be an arduous journey, and it has proven to be just that during our journey of 11 months so far. It is even more difficult to sustain ourselves with the meager revenue this newspaper generates, which is a reflection of the region’s socio-economic reality. As you can understand, no news is free. A lot of effort, energy, time and resources are invested to bring out an exclusive news report or story, which we publish almost every day. There remains so much more to be done, so much more to be written about. But try as we may, there are constraints that are often beyond surmountable for us, restraining us from pursuing any further. We look forward to the day when we shall be able to surmount all those constraints with your constant support. We do have our share of weaknesses and limitations but we believe that we have done justice to the task that we have taken up upon ourselves. However, without you – our loyal readers and subscribers – we can only do so much. Therefore, we request you to continue supporting us in all ways possible.

Mokokchung Times is not a business house. We are free from commercial or political interests. Thus, we need the goodwill and support of every single one of you to sustain this venture. As we try to adapt and evolve every day, we will soon be coming up with some new offers and additions to our portfolio. We hope that you will appreciate it and lend your support. Meanwhile, we are also humbled to inform you that our social media and digital platforms have grown to a combined audience of over 50,000 reaching tens of lakhs of users every month and traffic of 40,000+ visitors to our source portal every month. This provides a unique opportunity for advertisers in this digital age to make a real impact and gain direct access to an exceedingly engaged audience in an effective and trusted environment. This is also an invitation to advertise with us, an upcoming brand in the region. We are committed to being the most authentic, credible, and in-depth news service to speak up for you and share your stories to bring about a visible impact on the ground. We are here to celebrate the region’s legacy by sharing stories on all aspects which impact our lives.

In conclusion, we would like to inform you that our physical office shall remain closed from December 22 and shall be reopening on the 3rd of January next year. Print edition of our newspaper will be available till December 22 and the next edition will hit the stands on January 4. However, we will remain active online and you can follow and visit our social media platforms and website for all latest news and updates.

We wish you all a joyous and blessed Christmas.

Sincerely,
Team Mokokchung Times
