The three friends – Tiatula Pongen of Longsa village, Temjennaro Imchen of Kupza village, and Moasenla Longchar of Chungtia village – came together to make decorations and sell their services at reasonable prices after having the realization that every bride and groom deserve a decent grand wedding and that wedding decors should be accessible to just about anyone, well within the budget.
The three friends had always been enamored with wedding decorations and held the opinion that they not only assist people experience life’s most beautiful moments, but also reveal a lot about the type of celebration being held.
However, despite wedding decors being an integral part of weddings, the realization that the rise on price was rapid and that not everyone could afford the extravagant expenses prompted Atu, Naro and Asen to put forward their A.N.A Creations – the name inspired from their names – with the belief that weddings are all about ‘creating moments’.
Here is a brief interview with the A.N.A Creations trio.
MTimes: Hello A.N.A Creations, thank you for the opportunity.
A.N.A: Thank you Mokokchung Times for reaching out to us and giving this opportunity to share about our works. We really appreciate your support.
MTimes: It is our pleasure. So, there are three of you; could you please tell us more about your friendship?
A.N.A: Our friendship dates back to more than two decades. Our personalities, perception to things and choices are totally different but one common thing we share is the love for art, creativity and challenges, which is the ultimate reason behind our two decades friendship.
MTimes: How many weddings have you already covered? Which of your works do you consider to be your most impressive work?
A.N.A: So far we have covered around 10 weddings. Every client has their own unique vision as to how they want their special day to be. So, every project – be it extensive or budget wedding, all are equally important to us.
MTimes: Do you ever struggle with a lack of creativity? If so, how do you deal with them?
A.N.A: Of course, many a times. Well, we do our homework thoroughly and deliberate the ideas with the client and device accordingly to the theme of the wedding.
MTimes: Do the three of you ever disagree on creativity? If so, how do you deal with them?
A.N.A: Of course, we do. Like we have mentioned, we do our research, put in our own ideas, discuss and come up with a common conclusion which is best suited for the specific wedding/event.
MTimes: Which flowers are excellent for wedding decorations?
A.N.A: Well, every client has their own choice of flowers and of course any flower can be used for décor; nevertheless, from our perspective, we believe hydrangea is the ultimate wedding flower as they are extremely vigorous, full of volume and vibrant, which makes them the perfect choice for decorations.
However, without fillers, the floral arrangement tends to be incomplete. Fillers are like “the cherry on the cake,” the final thing that makes the decor perfect.
MTimes: What is the most cost-effective wedding décor, in your opinion?
A.N.A: Firstly, set the budget for the decorations beforehand. Secondly, buy/rent artificial flowers since natural flowers are very expensive in our area and they’re one time use only. Third, try to use as many locally available types of filler such as pampas, bayberry leaves, Jasmin leaves, bunny tails, hardy fan palm leaves, etc.
MTimes: Do you have any ideas for an eco-friendly wedding theme?
A.N.A: For an eco-friendly wedding, it is best to opt for a rustic or bohemian themed wedding.
MTimes: How essential is the relationship with the bride and groom in ensuring that you provide the finest service possible?
A.N.A: Having mutual understanding and trust between us and the client is very vital to ensure a successful project for us and a dream wedding for them.
