Northeast Football League launched through pact with Japan’s Bestserv Inc.
A historic milestone has been achieved for football in the North Eastern region with the signing of a Deed of Contract between the State Football Associations of the North East and Japan-based firm Bestserv Inc. to launch the Northeast Football League. The signing ceremony was held today at Kiranshree Grand in Guwahati, Assam, according to an update received here.

The league aims to provide a professional platform for players from the region while supporting State Football Associations in becoming self-sustainable. The initiative marks a significant step toward strengthening the football ecosystem and creating long-term opportunities for local talent.
The event was attended by Bestserv Inc. Chairman Luis Nakawa and International Development Manager Josef Kovac, along with representatives from all eight State Football Associations of the North East.
The partnership is expected to significantly boost the growth and development of football across the region. The Northeast Football League will raise competitive standards, nurture grassroots talent, and provide players with exposure to professional football environments, positioning the North East as a strong force in Indian football in the years ahead.
