ABAM Social Concern organized a one-day seminar on “Trending Social Issues” for ABAM Zones 1 to 7 at Impur on May 6, 2025. The seminar focused on two of today’s most pressing concerns: mental health and homosexuality, anupdate from ABAM Impur said.
By addressing these topics, the event aimed to raise awareness and deepen understanding within the community, sparking vital conversations that can lead to meaningful change.
The Church’s role in guiding individuals remains crucial, and its full-time staff are instrumental in providing support and care to those in need. Recognizing this, the seminar was organized to help these workers enhance their skills and increase their impact within their communities.
Dr Watinaro Longkümer, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Psychology and Counselling at St Joseph University, served as the resource person. With her expertise and insights, she inspired and empowered attendees, making the event a valuable opportunity for learning and growth.
Altogether, 175 dedicated full-time workers from 58 churches participated in the seminar, reflecting a shared commitment to service, care, and collective progress.
