The ABAM Social Concern organized a one-day seminar on “Trending Social Issues” for ABAM Zones 8 and 9 at Padum Pukhuri Ao Baptist Church on April 4, 2025. The seminar focused on two of the most pressing issues facing society today: mental health and homosexuality. Aimed at fostering awareness and understanding within the community, the event sought to spark essential conversations that could lead to positive change.
Designed for the full-time staff of the church, the seminar provided an opportunity to enhance their skills and equip them with better tools to offer support and care within their congregations. A total of 70 full-time workers from 23 churches participated.
The seminar featured two distinguished speakers: Dr Watinaro, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Psychology and Counselling at St Joseph University, and Inatoli Choppy, Director of Guardian Angel, Dimapur. “Their expertise and insights promised to inspire and empower attendees, making the event a remarkable opportunity for learning and growth,” an update received here said.
In a statement, Rev L Yapang Mollier, Officiating Executive Secretary of ABAM, expressed gratitude to Padum Pukhuri Ao Baptist Arogo for hosting the program. “We extend our heartfelt thanks to the church for generously hosting this impactful event and continue to pray for God’s abundant blessings,” he said.
