Impur, February 18 (MTNews): Under the supervision of Church and Mission, ABAM, a Spiritual Awakening program for the pastors under the aegis of ABAM, was held on February 17 & 18, 2022, at Impur. Altogether 135 pastors from 112 local churches attended the program.
During the welcome speech, Rev. Yapang Mollier, Secretary, Church & Mission, ABAM, said that, given the Sesquicentennial Celebration, this series of spiritual awakening programs for all the full-time church workers are held. This also marks the first time in the history of ABAM’s existence to have such a program, he added. He admonished everyone to make the best use of this opportunity.
Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener, Executive Secretary, ABAM, speaking on the topic “Where are you?” Genesis 3:9, said one needs to answer these questions to realize the present scenario of your ministry – where are you in the service of God? Where were you when the sheep went astray and when they were on verge of death? Were you there as the shepherd? He called on the pastors by saying that the systemic structure of ministry that waits for the sheep to come has to be reversed by going out to search the lost sheep at any cost. Unless otherwise, our endeavor will have no result. We need pastors whose eyes are full of tears for the lost sheep he claimed.
Rev. Lanuyanger, speaking on the topic “Give the diligence to make your calling sure” 2 Peter 1:10, said, as pastors, our calling is not general, it is very personal. Unless you do your job, no one takes your place. Knowing the seriousness of God’s calling, we need to avail ample time for thorough care of our sheep.
Rev. Sentisashi, Senior Pastor, Kohima Ao Baptist Church, on the topic, “Go Deeper” Luke 5:4, said, the lost sheep are not in the highways, but they are hidden in the deep and dark corners. Unless you go out of your comfort zone, hardly anyone can find one. Time demands a deep biblical nurturing and deep commitment. Let us get down from our chairs and go to the deepest corner and find those that are to be found.
