The ABAM Youth Ministry successfully organized a Men’s Football Olympic from September 4 to 6, 2025, at Impur under the auspices of ABAM, as part of its participation in the NBCC’s Sports and Scripture Engagement Olympics 2026. The event was conducted to select players for the forthcoming tournament.

The opening ceremony was graced by the President of ABAM, Rev. Ayutemjen, who inaugurated the tournament as chief guest. In his address, he drew upon the teachings of 2 Timothy 4:7, stating that “discipline and determination are the hallmarks of true sportsmanship.” He further encouraged the youth to engage in fair play to ensure the success of the tournament.

A total of eight zone-based teams participated in the event. Zone 4 emerged as the champion, while Zone 2 secured the runner-up position. Sentimong, captain of Zone 4, was awarded the ‘Player of the Tournament’ title, and Medemmar of Zone 1 received the best goalkeeper award.

The initiative was designed not only to identify talent but also to emphasize holistic health, discipline, spiritual formation, and the importance of a healthy lifestyle in sustaining sporting skills.

It also acknowledged the match officials, commentators, and Kümlong BA Youth Ministry for donating perpetual trophies, alongside others who contributed towards ground maintenance and facilities.

In the closing ceremony, Rev. Dr. Moanungsang, Secretary of the Education and Literature Ministry ABAM, congratulated all players and urged them “to give their best to present themselves in a disciplined manner everywhere they participate.”
