Kohima, 9 June (MTNews): Reacting to the incident that took place on Sunday, 3 June, in Chanakyapuri, Gujarat where two men from Nagaland were targeted for their involvement in “selling north eastern food,” the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee through a press release strongly condemned the incident. The NPCC President said that it was an “absolute disgrace to the ethos of diverse India.”

The NPCC said it will stand against any “hate crime and injustice” done against “our people” and extended their full support to the Gujarat Naga Students’ Union (GNSU) and ensured that they will not rest if “correct action according to the law is not taken.”

“We as fellow Naga brothers and sisters should come together and show our unity and strength until justice is brought,” it said.

The NPCC further applauded the GNSU for their “quick response to the situation and being there as a figurehead should.”
